Terms of Service
Last updated July 9, 2026
Emergency Line is operated by Kestra Inc., a Delaware corporation. These terms are the agreement between you and Kestra Inc. for your use of the service. By subscribing to or using Emergency Line, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Not a 911 service
This is not a 911 replacement. Emergency Line is a best-effort forwarding service. It depends on Twilio, your carrier, and your phone. Do not rely on it for life-threatening emergencies. Always call 911.
Emergency Line places calls over Twilio and the public phone network, and it can only ring a phone that those networks and your device can reach at that moment. Any of them can fail. Treat the line as a convenience for reaching you — never as a way to summon help. For anything life-threatening, call 911 or your local emergency number.
Best-effort service, no warranty
The service is provided on a best-effort basis and “as is”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that any given call or text will be delivered, that it will arrive quickly, or that the service will be available at any particular moment. Delivery depends on Twilio, your carrier, and your device, and none of those is under our control.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Delaware law, Kestra Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising out of the service — including any call or text that is delayed, dropped, or never delivered. Our total liability to you for any claim is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Some of these limits may not apply where the law does not allow them. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Billing
Emergency Line costs $5.00 per month, billed in advance through Stripe. There is no free trial, no refunds, and no proration — a partial month is charged in full, and canceling part-way through a month does not refund the remainder.
You can cancel anytime. When you cancel, your number is released promptly and cannot be recovered — not by you and not by us. If you subscribe again later, you are assigned a new number, which will usually differ from the one you had.
Fair-use cap on forwarded minutes
The subscription includes a fair-use allowance of forwarded minutes each billing period. If you pass the cap, the line may be suspended for the rest of the period — until it resets at the start of the next period, or until you add a top-up. The cap keeps one person’s usage from degrading the service for everyone; it is not a metered charge.
Acceptable use
Emergency Line is for reaching you and the few people who need to reach you. You agree not to:
- use the service for anything unlawful;
- place automated or bulk calls or texts through it;
- resell the service or the number to anyone else.
The phone you forward to must be a number you control. We confirm it with a verification call before the line goes live, so a number you do not own can never be saved as your destination.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your line if you break these terms — for example, by using it for abuse or unlawful calling — or if payment fails and stays unpaid past the grace period. When a line is terminated, the number is released on the same terms as a cancellation: promptly, and it cannot be recovered.
Privacy
Running the line means handling some of your data: your email, the number you forward to, call metadata, and any voicemail recordings. What we collect, why, how long we keep it, and who processes it on our behalf is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. Twilio and Stripe are our subprocessors.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Kestra Inc. is a corporation organized under the General Corporation Law of the State of Delaware, with its certificate of incorporation filed with the Delaware Secretary of State on April 27, 2026. Its registered office and registered agent in Delaware is Capitol Services, Inc., 108 Lakeland Avenue, Dover, Delaware 19901 (County of Kent).
