Privacy Policy
Last updated July 9, 2026
This policy explains what Emergency Line collects, why, how long we keep it, and who else handles it. Emergency Line is operated by Kestra Inc., a Delaware corporation, and this policy is part of our Terms of Service.
Not a 911 service
This is not a 911 replacement. Emergency Line is a best-effort forwarding service. It depends on Twilio, your carrier, and your phone. Do not rely on it for life-threatening emergencies. Always call 911.
We say this here too because privacy and safety are related: the service is best-effort, and it must never be relied on for a life-threatening emergency. For anything of that kind, call 911 or your local emergency number.
What we collect
To run your line, we collect only what the service needs:
- Your email — to create your account and reach you about your subscription.
- Your forward number — the phone your line rings, and its verified status.
- Call metadata — the time, duration, and direction of calls and texts, and the forwarded-minute total we meter against your fair-use cap.
- Voicemail recordings — the audio of any message a caller leaves when you do not answer.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles. We do not keep a copy of the contents of your calls beyond the voicemail recordings described above.
Why we collect it
Each piece has one purpose: your email identifies your account and lets us send billing and service notices; your forward number is what the line rings, and we verify it so a wrong number can never be saved; call metadata lets us route calls, meter forwarded minutes against the fair-use cap, and support you; and voicemail recordings let a caller leave you a message when you miss a call. We do not use any of it for anything else.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data — email and forward number — for as long as your account exists. Call metadata is retained for up to 24 months so we can meter usage, bill correctly, and investigate abuse. Voicemail recordings are kept for 30 days and then deleted. When you close your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records to meet a legal or tax obligation.
Who processes it (subprocessors)
We use two subprocessors to run the service, and your data passes through them for that purpose only:
- Twilio — carries the calls and texts and provides your number. Voicemail recordings are stored by Twilio.
- Stripe — processes your subscription payments. Your card details go to Stripe directly; we never see or store them.
Your choices
You can cancel your subscription anytime, which releases your number and stops new call metadata from being collected. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, contact us at the address below. Canceling does not by itself erase data we are required to retain, but you can ask us to delete everything we are not legally obliged to keep.
